Heartburn

HeartburnHeartburn, indigestion, and “heartburn” are some of the terms used to describe these gastrointestinal disturbances.

Causes

Hyperacidity is caused by an irritation of the stomach or esophagus (the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach). The stomach lining is protected against the effects of gastric juices in the digestive process involved, but some factors such as alcohol, fatty foods, caffeine, certain medications and stress, can destroy this defense. The heartburn discomfort usually associated with power and position of a person, but may also occur with gastro esophageal reflux symptoms.

Some factors may contribute to the problem of acidity, such as overweight and pregnancy. Smokers also have higher chances of developing this disease. (more…)

What is Blood uric acid

Material to be studied: blood collected from the vein of the elbow.
Patient time spent: 5-10 minutes.

Purpose: To confirm the diagnosis of gout. Defects in renal function.

Advance preparation: it is not necessary.

Results:

Normal values:
Male: 4.3 to 8 mg / dl.
