
The Medical University of Innsbruck has set up the first coordination center for clinical trials in Austria. It will make a substantial contribution to improving the practical clinical research.
If a study design in practice? The therapeutic regime is used in clinical practice? Are there enough available to patients who meet the entry criteria? As a study can be funded, and what legal regulations must be observed? More effective medicines, better tolerated treatments or new diagnostic procedures with pinpoint accuracy – generally applies: No authorization without clinical trials. They are subject to a variety of international and national regulations and follow strict ethical principles. These include as the Declaration of Helsinki, regulations on Good Clinical Practice (ICHGCP), the Directive 2001/20 / EC of the European Parliament and Council Directive 2005/28/EC of the European Commission. In Austria, a clinical trial may only be conducted when it was released by the responsible ethics commission and the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and the Austrian Law on Medical Arzneimittelund equivalent.
