Many parents provide, with the best intentions, drugs that endanger the health and even lives of their children.

Some parents, when their children represent that they have some pain, they begin to administer medication indiscriminately and, worse, without prior consultation with the doctor.

Recovery after a febrile illness

febrile illnessOnce the child exceeds a common illness with fever (eg, influenza), start the recovery period which can last from three to five days.

This recovery time is important, because the infant’s body needs to recover all their energies primarily the immune system which must regain its usual efficiency.

It is important to note that, after recovering from an illness like the flu the child can cough again which does not necessarily mean that it is a relapse (a recurrence of the same disease), although in rare cases, can occur.

Relapse may be due to other microbes with which the child has come into contact which attack you more easily, because the defenses are weakened small, due to recent illness. (more…)

Scholarship for Medicine Studies

For the call 2009, which provided 8 scholarships for the country and ended last Jan. 23, is demanded, be baccalaureate graduates in the years 2006, 2007, 2008, living in a rural zone or vulnerable; be classified in levels 1, 2 and 3 or recorded in the SISBEN at levels 1, 2 and 3, be less than 25 years, having obtained ICFES test scoring above 50 in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.

The scholarship covers expenses for tuition, food, accommodation and health insurance during the six years of the curriculum. The airfare, which happens to be economical if you travel through Cubana Airlines, run by the student, as well as other expenses such as passport, immigration and other unspecified. Keep in mind that when the graduates return to their home country should make the process of approval of title obtained in accordance with existing law so that they can exert. In the case of Colombia this procedure is done with the Ministry of Education.

Doctor Patient Relationship

  • To inform, educate and treat the patient properly (also implies actions on the environment)
  • Reconsider the plan in light of the progress and expected results as planned (change of treatment, suspension, additional shares, etc.)
  • Provide high when the resolution of the disease (when possible), but tend towards measures to maintain the health status (recovery, aids, hospice, etc.)

All medical consultation should be recorded in a document known as medical records, legal documents, educational, and scientific information, which includes the conduct of the provider. you have to rest more and relagarse.

Residency Way to Get a Doctor

Recent developments
Until 2004, the future general practitioners do not spend the assistance of the internship. The second round was followed by a period called “Residency”, which lasted two and a half years (three years for new promotions residents from 2001). From 2004 a new reform took place. All medical students must now pass the national examination ranking (renamed national ranking events “afterwards) and complete an internship. The former becomes Residency internship in general medicine, in the process of upgrading the profession deserted dramatically. From the start of 2010 the first year is common with that of pharmacy (in addition to that of dentistry and midwifery) and studied medicine fit into the Bologna process.
